I forgot to take pictures of each step of the oil process. Here I have done the sky, mountains and ocean. Plus added some color to the building and table.

I am back to posting after a week or so of my family coming in for Thanksgiving. I decided to add a darker color to the building with the acrylic's before moving on to the oils. I really like the way the under/color will show through the oils when applied.

Hello again! I have finished my smaller paintings, I will throw some of them up on the blog for you to view when the weather clears and I can get crisp photo's.
Here I have adjusted some elements of the painting. Finished my acrylic under painting, setting the mood for the oils. I think I will really like this one, peaceful, warm sun and an ocean view... my favorite.

Here I decided I wanted this Tuscan porch to look out over the Mediterranean. I will probably add some sail boats, birds or whatever hits my fancy as I flow through my paint brush. Thanks for joining me!

I continue to adjust the painting, changing things that do not work for me. Adding loose strokes of color. Always defining a little more the the dark's, light's and shapes.

Once I have chosen my color palette, I darken the colors in the under painting, I like rich, vibrant color to show through when I add the oil paint. As you can see I decided I had enough laundry and removed the laundry on the left.

I just love Tuscany. This painting was influenced by Florence's colorful Ponte Vechio in Tuscany, Italy. I forgot to take a picture of the sketch, here I had already started with the under painting.
Now I begin to see the elements come alive and can easily decide if there is anything in the painting I want to edit. You will be able to see in the next picture elements I decided I did not need.

Here is the last photo, elapsed time approx, 1 1/2 hours from the 1st photo. It appears to be like a lattice (or cross hatching) for my fellow artists. Or a grid perhaps. My grandson Sebastian calls it tic tac toe boards in the sky.
